The MPT (stands for Turkish: Millî Piyade Tüfeği, English: National Infantry Rifle) is a modular rifle family designed by MKEK and produced by MKEK, Sarsılmaz Arms and Kalekalıp to meet the demands of the Turkish Armed Forces and to replace its aging rifles such as Heckler & Koch G3 and Heckler & Koch HK33 due to most of them being near the end of their service life. The MPT was designed for robust high altitude, all weather combat, capable of functioning in extreme hot and cold weather. The MKEK MPT is a rifle intended to take abuse and extreme mistreatment and still maintain high accuracy and reliability in order to survive in true battle environments. The Turkish government has invested US$22 million into the project. It made its first public appearance at the Eurosatory 2014, ADEX 2014 and the MSPO 2014 events.MecnuNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01431064037423574245noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3201342355967138611.post-85368858479994748042020-05-14T03:53:00.005-07:002020-05-14T05:14:25.423-07:00HATSAN ESCORT BTS410 TACTICAL BULLPUP AUTOMATIC SHOTGUN
What do you get when you cross a car wash spray nozzle with a Thompson submachine gun? No, it's not a joke. It's a new and rather unconventional .45-caliber (.45 ACP) subgun that attenuates/mitigates felt recoil and muzzle rise/climb--thus increasing controllability--on full-auto by putting the bore axis at or slightly below the centerline of the shooter's fist and forearm and combining that ergonomic aspect with a mechanical recoil attenuation/mitigation system. It's called the KRISS Super V Sub-machine gun, and it's brought to you by the good folks at Transformational Defense Industries (TDI), headquartered in Washington, D.C. That's more than a little ironic. Think about it--a select-fire (full-auto capable) small arm being developed in D.C., one of the most anti-legal-firearms-ownership/anti-Second Amendment cities in the country. Most likely, TDI's manufacturing facility is located outside the District (in an actual state, somewhere), and it would seem logical that their testing facility would be located somewhere in Virginia. We'll look into it.

TDI claims that in addition to reducing felt recoil and muzzle rise on full-auto, the KRISS's unique design...

reduces weapon weight by as much as 50%. The total number of parts (including moving parts) is supposed to also be lower, but DefRev doesn't have a parts count, yet. According to the company, the KRISS Super V subgun can be adapted to other calibers. We assume this means that 9mm (9x19mm) and .40 S&W versions are possible. The TDI website states that the KRISS prototype has already been "extensively analyzed and tested by the US Army Picatinny Arsenal" (NJ), and that the the KRISS weapons platform "has proven itself to be a major step forward that can equip the war fighters of today with the ability to deliver a large quantity of high impact rounds with the accuracy that can only come from a low-recoil, light-weight weapon."

DefenseReview will try to acquire the results of those tests, ASAP. In the meantime, we highly recommend that our readers take a look at the KRISS Super V Sub-machine gun video clip (link below). From viewing the video clip, it's DefRev's opinion that TDI needs to do a just a few things with regard to further developing the KRISS:

1) Develop a 30-round magazine, or make the KRISS compatible with Thompson 30-round box mags.

2) Redesign and elongate the magwell so it can be used as a vertical foregrip, or design an actual vertical foregrip (fixed or folding) for the weapon. If a folding vertical foregrip is designed, it must be sturdy/robust. If a separate vertical foregrip is added, the barrel will most likely have to be lengthened slightly. Without a vertical foregrip, the firing method employed by the test shooters in the TDI video clip looks just a wee-bit dangerous for the shooter, as the support hand must be placed awfully close to the muzzle during full-auto fire. It just doesn't look safe to us. A robust vertical foregrip would provide for a much more secure (and thus safer) hold. It would also allow the KRISS to be used as a less-lethal blunt impact weapon for CQB/CQC (Close Quarters Battel/Close Quarters Combat), where lethal force isn't necessarily required.

3) Reduce the weapon's cyclic rate/rate-of-fire (ROF) a bit.
GLOCK 26
"Baby" Glock

The triumphant advance of the smallest GLOCK pistol, specially developed for concealed carry and previously a domain of 5-round snub nose revolvers, started with the presentation of the GLOCK 26 in August 1994. The GLOCK 26 offers more than an alternative in this field. The magazine capacity of 10 rounds as standard and the highly accurate firing characteristics explain the worldwide distribution among security personnel and secret services.

The G3 was and in some cases continues to be produced under license in: France (MAS), Greece (Hellenic Arms Industry), Iran (Defense Industries Organization), Luxembourg (Luxemburg Defense Technology), Mexico, Myanmar, Norway (Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk), Pakistan (Pakistan Ordnance Factories), Portugal (FBP), Saudi Arabia, Sweden (FFV), Thailand, Turkey (MKEK) and the United Kingdom (Royal Ordnance).
The G3A3 (A4) is a selective-fire automatic weapon that employs a roller-delayed blowback operating system. The two-piece bolt assembly consists of a breech (bolt head) and bolt carrier. The bolt is held in battery by two sliding cylindrical rollers that engage locking recesses in the barrel extension (popularly called a "trunnion"; BATF calls this a "mounting block"). The breech is opened when both rollers are compressed inward against camming surfaces driven by the rearward pressure of the expanding gases upon the bolt head. As the rollers move inward, recoil energy is transferred to the locking piece and bolt carrier which begin to withdraw while the bolt head slowly moves rearward in relation to the bolt carrier. As the bolt carrier clears the rollers, pressure in the bore drops to a safe level, the bolt head is caught by the bolt carrier and moves to the rear as one unit, continuing the operating cycle. The bolt also features an anti-bounce mechanism that prevents the bolt from bouncing off the barrel's breech surface. The spring-powered claw extractor is also contained inside the bolt while the lever ejector is located inside the trigger housing (actuated by the recoiling bolt).
The rifle is hammer fired and has a trigger mechanism with a 3-position fire selector switch that is also the manual safety toggle that secures the weapon from accidentally discharging (fire selector in the “E” or “1” position – single fire mode ("Einzelfeuer"), “F” or “20” – automatic fire ("Feuerstoß"), “S” or “0” – weapon is safe ("Sicher"), trigger disabled mechanically). The weapon can be fitted with an optional 4-position safety/fire selector group illustrated with pictograms with an ambidextrous selector lever. The additional, fourth selector setting enables a 3-round burst mode of fire.
The firearm was equipped with iron sights that consist of a rotary rear drum and hooded front post. The rear sight, mechanically adjustable for both windage and elevation, has an open notch used to fire up to 100 m and three apertures used for: 200, 300 and 400 m.[5] The receiver housing has recesses that work with HK clamp adapters used to mount day or night optics.
The rifled barrel (contains 4 right-hand grooves with a 305 mm twist rate) terminates with a slotted flash suppressor which can also be used to attach a bayonet or serve as an adapter for launching rifle grenades. From the G3A3 the barrel had polygonal rifling.[6] The barrel chamber is fluted, which assists in the initial extraction of a spent cartridge casing (since the breech is opened under very high barrel pressure).
The G3A3 (A4) uses either steel (260 g) or aluminium (140 g) double-stacked straight box magazines, or a 50 round drum magazine. Original H&K drums are rare and command high prices, a reproduction is available at much less cost from Allied Armament. H&K developed a prototype plastic disposable magazine in the early 1960s, but it was not adopted as aluminum magazines were just as light and proved more durable, as well as easier to produce.
Standard accessories supplied with the rifle include: a detachable bipod (not included with rifles that have a perforated plastic handguard), sling, cleaning kit and a speed-loading device. Several types of bayonet are available for the G3, but with few exceptions they require an adapter to be inserted into the end of the cocking tube. The most common type features a 6¾ inch spear-point blade nearly identical with the M7 bayonet, but with a different grip because of its mounting above the barrel. The weapon can also mount a 40 mm HK79 under-barrel grenade launcher, blank firing adapter a straight blowback bolt (called a “PT” bolt, lacks rollers) used for firing 7.62×51mm ammunition with plastic bullets, a conversion kit used for training with .22 LR ammunition and a sound suppressor (that uses standard ammunition).
The G3 is a modular weapon system. Its butt-stock, fore-stock and pistol-grip/fire-control assembly may be changed at will in a variety of configurations (listed below). For example: by simply removing push pins the fixed butt-stock can be removed and replaced with a telescoping butt-stock.
BARRETT MODEL 99
Rugged. Reliable. Uncomplicated. The Model 99 is designed for one thing only: to get the job done. With its brilliantly simple design, hard-core construction and surprisingly few moving parts, it offers match-winning accuracy time and time again.
At the heart of this robust and accurate bolt action rifle is a one-piece 7000 series aluminum alloy extrusion. A heat-treated steel M1913 optics rail is attached to the top of the extrusion by closely spaced high-strength bolts. The match-toleranced barrel is pressed and locked into the receiver, creating a rock-solid unitized structure on which to mount a riflescope. The Model 99 barrel is made in a heavier contour to ensure repeatable accuracy. The chamber area is encased by the thick-walled aluminum extrusion of the receiver, resulting in unparalleled safety for the shooter.
The bolt is machined from a single piece of shock-resistant tool steel. The action’s strength is exemplified by the 15 bolt lugs that lock into the machined barrel extension. The bolt’s few moving parts, an extractor, ejector and firing pin assembly, make it reliable and easy to maintain.
The Model 99 is easily disassembled without tools by removing three quick-release assembly pins. These pins attach the trigger housing and bolt guide to the receiver assembly. The match-quality trigger design is exclusive to Barrett and virtually maintenance-free. The bipod can easily be detached for benchrest shooting.
ANZIO IRONWORKS MONSTROUS 20MM
The use of 20mm precision fire started before WWII with the Finns who fielded the Lathi M39 that helped them slow and almost defeat the Soviet invasion of their borders by Stalin before he became a buddy of FDR. The Finns were able to penetrate the thin armor of pre-war Soviet tanks and force disproportionate losses on the astonished invading Russian army. They also used dummies to draw out Soviet snipers, which the 20mm Lathi effectively eliminated from a safe distance.
Beginning in 1937, the Imperial Japanese Army used the semi-automatic Kawamura Type 97 20×124mm anti-tank rifle. The Type 97 was 120 to150 pounds, had a crew of four and with no muzzle brake had horrendous recoil. It did not have any optics, just open sights so it was used mainly against light armor, from fixed defensive positions, and could fire full-auto 2,083-grain High Explosive Incendiary at 2,500 feet per second (fps) from its 7-round magazine. With the advent of the next generation of armor, both the M39 and Type 97 went the way of the horse cavalry and biplane — still used in combat, but not on the winning side.
The value of very long range sniping has been firmly established as a major asset in modern counter-terror battlefighting. Both in Afghanistan and Iraq, the use of the .50 BMG for precision fire has resulted in serious reductions of enemy strength during operations in both open and urban areas without collateral damage. The use of long range precision fire is cost effective, easy to integrate into combined operations and provides our warfighters unprecedented protection when they operate under the watchful oversight of one or more of these powerful weapons. Recent proof was the elimination of an enemy machine gunner by Canadian sniper Rob Furlong shooting a bolt-action .50 BMG from a distance of over a mile and a half.
The Strike One semiautomatic pistol comes to the world scene in 2012 as a completely new and revolutionary gun. The Strike One semiautomatic pistol comes as the fastest, most controllable, most accurate and hard hitting service pistol available today on the world market. A full 5 inches cold-hammered barrel, along with a 75 Hrc surface Nitrite treatment for barrel, locking block, slide and operating pin industrial production standard, warrant safe and flawless use of the pistol in excess of 50.000 rounds. The frame of the Strike One was also engineered with exacting and unprecedented standards: the operating frame block, again made of the best 42CrMo4 steel, features long rails for total axial and torque control of all the moving parts, pins and springs. The frame itself, with it’s unique and true 3D hand grip (and not just “millings” on a flat surface) comes today as the only service pistol with a full fledged IPSC standard magazine insert “miniskirt”, allowing Special Operation and SWAT teams to work as if they were using a competition pistol. The trigger system of the Strike One, again like no other before, operates mainly on the horizontal plain, without raisers with variable and long, rubbery trigger pull, but with a crisp and short firing pin release: this is the secret, along with a lighting fast locking mechanism, behind the unbelievable semiautomatic firing speed of our pistol. Finally, thanks to the in-line barrel operation, the Strike One allows the development of a number of extremely innovative accessories, which base the designing and operative criteria on the “carrying in-line barrel”, such as for instance the LRC (Long Range Conversion).
STRIKE PISTOL SYSTEM LRC
The Long Range Conversion (LRC) for the Strike One pistol offers to the operative shooter and marksman another innovative opportunity: thanks to the in line barrel and tight locking tolerances between slide and frame, our exclusive and patented LRC conversion allows the quick mount and take down on the pistol’s lower frame rail of a quadrilateral Picatinny attachment, machined from a solid slab of Ergal light alloy. For the first time, a semiautomatic pistol offers to the shooter a system which features the barrel of the pistol carrying the optical sighting devices instead of having them mounted on the frame or slide. The LRC, thanks to a very tight tolerance design between barrel and center alignment tunnel in the Ergal attachment, allows extremely high accuracy even with standard factory ammunition at ranges up to 200 Mt.
ARSENAL FIREARMS AF2011-A1 DOUBLE BARREL PISTOL
The AF2011-A1 Double Barrel Pistol comes actually as the very first industrial double barrel semiautomatic pistol of all times. The original idea came about ten years back to Swiss armourer Vivian Mueller, who at the time experienced cutting and welding together multiple parts of the famous Sig P210: the result was a long slide, double barrel 9mm, highly decorated collector piece, which indeed shot very well. Our idea took the challenge further: to commemorate the legendary Colt 1911-A1 in the Centenary by making a true industrial market-ready double barrel .45 caliber pistol. We achieved success in the brief span of 6 months, after intense and round-the-clock 3D designing, stereolithographic modeling and parts machining. The gun can be handled by any shooter able to shoot with a .45 Acp and it is not only very pleasing, but very accurate and great fun. The AF2011-A1 holds amazing and surprising target performance for the shooter: in fact, it will group all the 8 double .45 caliber rounds (16 bullets) held in the duplex, single columns magazines, in a target of the size of an orange at 15 yards and of a water melon at 25. The stopping power of the AF2011-A1 is tremendous: 2 bullets for a total of 460 Grains weight impacting at 1 to 2 inches apart (depending on the distance of the target) will knock down a bull, while the whole 18 bullets, for a payload exceeding 4000 Grains, can be delivered to the target in about 3 seconds. The AF2011-A1 obviously features a number of very special parts, such as the single slide, the single frame, the single spur double hammer, the single grip safety, the single body double mainspring housing and the single double cavity magazine floor plate, the long and double magazine latch, the special barrel bushings and the hold open lever and side lever safety with long shafts: but the most interesting feature of the new pistol which we strived to keep during the development of the project, is the interchangeability of most internal parts, which come as standard 1911 replacement parts. These include the firing pins, the firing pins plates, the sears groups, the triple springs, the inner parts of the mainspring housings, the recoil springs and recoil springs rods, the magazine bodies and inner parts, the sights (including after market adjustable sights) the grips and grips screws and bushings. The AF2011-A1 (“Twenty Eleven” for aficionados) can be ordered either with 2 independent triggers and one sear group (left or right, with user-interchangeability for right or left operations) or with 2 triggers permanently joined and the choice of 1 or 2 sear groups. The AF2011-A1 is available in mirror finish Deep Blue or with a 3400 Vickers surface hardness White Ash Nitrite coating.
The McMillan Tac-50 is a manually operated, rotary bolt action rifle. The large bolt has dual front locking lugs, and its body has spiral flutes to reduce weight. The heavy match-grade barrel, made by Lilja barrels, is also fluted to dissipate heat quickly and reduce overall weight and fitted with an effective muzzle brake to reduce recoil. The rifle is fed from detachable box magazines, holding 5 rounds each. The stock is made from fiberglass by McMillan Stocks, and is designed to be used from a bipod only. The buttstock is adjustable for length of pull with rubber spacers, and can be removed for compact storage. The rifle has no open sights and can be used with a variety of telescopic or night sights.
In Canadian service, the standard telescopic sight was the McMillan endorsed Leupold Mark 4-16x40mm LR/T M1 Riflescope optical sight that has now been replaced by the Schmidt & Bender 5-25x56 PMII telescopic sight[citation needed]. McMillan also endorses the Nightforce NXS 8–32x56 Mil-dot telescopic sight for the Tac-50.
